PBCATA 2011-2012

 

Thank you for your continued participation with the Palm Beach County Art Teachers Association! We are wrapping up a great year of workshops at discount prices, members' only art shows, and art exhibits that showcase your talented students' artwork. A majority of the money raised goes directly to students pursuing the Visual Arts at the college level.


PBCATA Annual Scholarships
Applications Due Friday, May 11, 2012 by noon.
 

Applicants must be graduating seniors who intend to pursue a degree in the Visual Arts, and whose high school art teacher is a current member of P.B.C.A.T.A.   Your art teacher may send your application by interschool mail or you may mail it to the address below.  Late applications will not be accepted.   Applicants will be notified of the results by May 18, 2012  by interschool mail to their art teachers.

District K-12 Student Art Exhibition

The School District of Palm Beach County invites all students, parents, administration, personnel and community members to their Annual K-12 Spring Student Art Exhibition: "Art Shapes the World". The exhibition features students from various schools around Palm Beach County and correlates with National Youth Art Month, Music in Our Schools Month, and Theatre for Life in March.

The art show will run from March 28th until April 10th at the Fulton-Holland Educational Services Center, 3300 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33406.

PBCATA Member's Exhibition at Old School Square

The current PBCATA Members Exhibition is at Old School Square in the Crest Theater until May 17, 2012. The opening reception is Wednesday April 11, 2012 from 5:30-7:00pm. Please plan to join us.

Pinhole Photography
Make Up Date: TBA

Participants will make pinhole cameras, use them to take photographs, and develop their pictures in this unique workshop. Pinhole cameras date back to the 5th century, and were developed after the camera obscura. Come enjoy this "ancient art" with us all. All grade levels.

Come participate in PBCATA's monthly member meeting, 2nd Thursday of every month at the Norton Museum of Art.  Please plan on staying after the meeting to participate in the Norton's Art After Dark program.
